Stewart Island Activities, Ferry Tours
Stewart Island is a stand alone land mass found right off the southern most tip of the South Island. A short ferry ride across the famous Foveaux Strait from a small township called Bluff will get you there in approximately 2 hours. If you are into the great outdoors, nature, wildlife and fishing there is no better place. Sightseeing trips depart daily. If you are lucky you may see the famous New Zealand Kiwi?
Accommodation ranges from private houses, B&B’s to modest motels. If you are at all into deep-sea fishing this is the place, jump aboard a charter boat and head out for a great day catching Blue Cod, which is filleted and shared out amongst the people on board at the end of the day. Salmon, Crayfish and Paua can also be caught here.
