Travel in style through Dunedin city scenery and experience two of Dunedin iconic factories, Speight’s Brewery and Cadbury Chocolate Factory.
This tour starts when we pick you up at your door at around 2.30pm. Travel in style in The Luxury Big Limo or luxury transit as we take you on a short ride through Dunedin City whilst the guide points out some of the iconic features of New Zealand’s First City.
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate
Our first stop on the tour is Cadbury World, a chocolate lovers dream. Enjoy a chocolate filled 75 minute tour of the factory. The Full Tour starts at the visitor center where you can learn about the history of chocolate and how the Cadbury brand has evolved over the years then view a short film on the history of the Dunedin factory. To accompany you on the tour you will have your own Goody Bag with your first chocolate bar to keep you going and you will have the opportunity to fill the bag whilst on tour, if you can answer the questions correctly. In the factory, discover the chocolate making process from the cocoa bean to the ending delicious product, see the busy factory workers and view the machines producing different products. Enter the Big Purple Silo for the big surprise (ever wished to see a chocolate waterfall?) Finish your tour and satisfy your taste buds, enjoy a little cup of silky chocolate. Finish your tour in the Factory Shop, where you can purchase more chocolate and merchandise.
Pride of the South
Our final visit is this iconic and historic working brewery, still occupying the same site since 1876. The Speight’s Brewery tour is an award winning, interactive guided tour through the factory. In the 90 minute tour you will learn about the beer making process and discover how Speight’s became the “Pride of The South” Learn about the history of the introduction of beer to New Zealand and Speight’s own history with your informative guide. Round off the tour by pouring a glass of your choice and enjoy the appreciation sampling of the six Speight’s varieties. The tour ends in the Factory Shop where you can purchase genuine Speight’s merchandise. There is the option to add on a 3 course dinner to the end of your tour, at The Speight’s Ale House for only $40 per person; child rates available on application.
You will end your tour with a bag of treats which will remind you of the great tastes of Dunedin and we will drop you back to your accommodation or favourite restaurant.
