A Hidden Treasure
Situated in the heart of the Universtiy area of Dunedin City, Green Man Brewery is an award winning brewery and a hidden treasure of Dunedin. With many styles and flavours of beer, they will cater to anyone’s taste. With a German Braumeister, all GreenMan beers are brewed according to the Bavarian Beer purity Law of 1516 using only water, malt, hops and yeast. As well as being a boutique brewery GreenMan also only use certified organic malts.
Pride of the South
Our final visit is this iconic and historic working brewery, still occupying the same site since 1876. The Speight’s Brewery tour is an award winning, interactive guided tour through the factory. In the 90 minute tour you will learn about the beer making process and discover how Speight’s became the “Pride of The South.” Learn about the history of the introduction of beer to New Zealand and Speight’s own history with your informative guide. Round off the tour by pouring a glass of your choice and enjoy the appreciation sampling of the six Speight’s varieties. The tour ends in the Factory Shop where you can purchase genuine Speight’s merchandise.
