Auckland Coast & Country Tours Auckland
About
Description
The ideal ‘all-inclusive’ tour to experience west Auckland’s coast and countryside attractions which includes visiting our own historic sheep farm and Homestead. Owned & operated by NZ and Maori hosts, you will explore the region where our family has lived and farmed since 1922. With pick-up, rainforest, craft-market, wine and honey tasting, black-sand beach, Muriwai beach and sea-bird colony, lunch (+ wine/beer!), and afternoon tea.
‘Coast to Coast Tours’ has been operating since 2002, and is an environmentally-conscious company which only operates locally. We also plant a Native tree in our own farm’s Carbon Credit Reserve for every tour we run, and in 2009 we were finalists in the Hospitality Awards for Sustainability.
Recently we have been awarded the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2011, which endorses this is a highly rated tour, acclaimed to be a “must do” by their reviewer’s.
We guarantee to make your time in Auckland a very special day and we do look forward to meeting you soon!
Ultimate Auckland Tour
During this full day eco tour, you’ll see the Waitakere Rainforest and have a fully guided tour through the Arataki Visitor Information Centre. You’ll stop for 1/2 hour at a craft market called Craftworld, for an opportunity to shop for genuine New Zealand products. You’ll enjoy a wine tasting experience at an award-winning winery, and sample pure raw New Zealand honey at Beesonline. You’ll visit the world-famous Takapu Gannet Colony and you will also see Muriwai beach with its black iron-sand. Just 7 minutes away, is our New Zealand sheep farm where you will be welcomed (in Maori), into our historic Homestead. You will be shown around and be able to take in the New Zealand lifestyle of our typical family home. Then outside, you will be able to feed and touch pet New Zealand sheep and see our other animals.
Come for a walk through our New Zealand native garden on the way over to the woolshed for a display on wool and New Zealand sheep farming. Coast to Coast Tours offset their tour EMISSIONS with our “unique-to-Auckland” tree planting project, (and you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase & plant your own Native tree, should you wish to have your own personal tree). It’s then back to the Homestead to freshen-up for afternoon tea, a tasting platter of iconic New Zealand fare, (including Pavlova and Donna’s homemade preserves) .
LUNCH (with wine/beer), is also included …your choice from the upmarket cafe menu.
