Welcome to Climbing Queenstown - where your climbing adventures begin.
We operate in some of the most beautiful scenery throughout Queenstown including Queenstown Hill and the stunning Remarkables mountains. Choose from Via Ferrata (our fixed rung climbing experience), abseiling, rock climbing and mountaineering.
Rock Climbing – Half Day
This action packed 4 hours requires no previous experience. Feel the natural rock under your finger tips as you scale the Queenstown cliff faces. Due to the extreme nature of this activity we have low client to instructor ratios, ensuring your safety at all times. We have a selection of climbs from low angle beginner routes to extreme overhangs to test any adrenalin junky.
Rock Climbing – Full Day
Welcome to the broadest realms of Rock Climbing. Our Introduction Day covers basic climbing techniques in a remote and stunning location. Expect no crowds, a relaxed learning environment and lots of time on the rock.
We can also cater for experienced rock climbers. If you would like to up skill to multi pitch climbing, natural protection climbing, hard sport climbing or any other specific area of rock climbing, contact us to tailor your own private rock climbing day.
Abseil
This is an experience not physically demanding but definitely a mentally challenging one. Our abseil trip lets you control your decent speed safely to the ground, as you experience the adrenalin rush of descending onto Queenstown’s doorstep. No experience is required and full instruction is given from our experienced guides.
Via Ferrata
This is the perfect introduction to climbing if you have never been before. Our Via Ferrata gives you the exposure of a rock climbing experience as you climb fixed rung systems that snake their way up Queenstown Hill. We have a variety of levels from the absolute beginner to the more adventure seeker. This is a unique, rewarding experience incorporating both mental and physical challenges.
Mountaineering - Remarkables Expedition
The Remarkables is a stunning mountain range that dominates over Queenstown. We run day guided ascents from Queenstown during both winter and summer up Single and Double Cone, the highest points on the Remarkables. Enjoy breathtaking views as well as a fantastic sense of achievement. The day trips are 8 hours plus and we cater for a variety of abilities and fitness levels.
We provide all the necessary technical equipment to ensure your safety (including ice axe, crampons, harness, helmet and avalanche transceivers in winter). We recommend that you wear your own boots to ensure you experience a comfortable walk into the mountains.
Clothing can be hired from Outside Sports, where our desk is based, at preferential rates. Outside Sports also hire trekking boots suitable for summer conditions.
