About
Description
Stewart Island is New Zealand’s ultimate eco-tourism destination.
Its densely forested hills, and untouched coastline of rocky outcrops and creamy golden sand beaches make it a haven for native marine and bird life. Vivid dawn and twilight hues give rise to the island’s Maori name, Rakiura – land of the glowing skies.
Cruise to Stewart Island on our modern catamarans. Regular ferry services depart daily from Bluff with coach transfers available from Invercargill. Secure car parking is available at the Bluff Visitor Terminal.
During the one-hour crossing of Foveaux Strait, keep a look out for wildlife, especially sea birds. Our friendly staff provide an informative commentary and point out highlights.
On arrival at Stewart Island, enjoy a leisurely cruise of beautiful Paterson Inlet, explore the island on our Village and Bays Tours or enjoy Stewart Island's forest and coastline on an Guided Walk. Alternatively explore independently by hiring rental cars, mountain bikes and scooters.
