About

Description

A totally incredible NZ rafting experience where you will feel the thrill of conquering some of New Zealand’s most exciting and scenic stretches of white water.

Appreciate Lord of the Rings scenery, the same mountain backdrop for ‘Edoras’, while you practise your paddling and safety drills on the initial calmer waters with your fun and professional guides.

The variety of rapids provides a fun day for both novice and experienced rafters with the option to walk around any rapids with the photographer.

“Very personal and professional New Zealand rafting company. We were not rushed at any time.” (comment from survey)

Rangitata Rafts offers you 2.5 hours on the river, longer than most other New Zealand one day rafting trips allowing time towards the end for you to experience floating along in the calmer turquoise waters, having fun surfing the rafts in the smaller rapids.  Challenge yourself with an optional ‘leap of faith’ from one of two ‘jump rocks’.

Rangitata Rafts team feel privileged to work in such an incredible valley and enjoy sharing it with others.  Over-crowding on this river is never an issue as Rangitata Rafts is the only operator on this unique stretch of river.

Enjoy an early lunch with your fellow rafters on arrival at our lodge before changing into the warm river clothing provided. Hot refreshing showers and a delicious BBQ await your arrival back at our lodge.

“Mind-blowingly beautiful were the surroundings, reassuringly wonderful were the guides, white water rafting the grade 5 Rangitata was all we hoped for and more.” (Louise)

Join the day trip from Christchurch or self drive, the perfect stop between Christchurch and Lake Tekapo or Queenstown.

“Extremely well organised, confident & knowledgeable staff, excellent progression of rapids.  An absolute Must – good even for first timers.” (comment from survey)
