Experience the thrill of Whitewater rafting on the Kaituna River only 15 minutes from central Rotorua.
Join River Rats in an adrenalin rush that takes you down the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world. Fast and furious, this exhilarating ride moves you through foamy water and over the awesome seven metre drop.
Although this trip provides full on action the river is pool drop meaning that every rapid is followed by calm water making it very forgiving for a grade 5 river, adventurous begginners are welcome.
Around 15 – 20 minutes of training is provided prior to the trip teaching all the required paddle commands and safety information.
The Kaituna Grade 5 is a trip that’s not for the fainthearted, so gather your partner, a few adrenalin- seeking friends or workmates or just yourself if everyone else is too scared.

Professional photographs are taken of each River Rats rafting trip and the Kaituna Grade 5 is suitable for all active people aged 13 years and over.
Trip Includes

Duration
- Allow 3hrs (including travel time from Rotorua)
Departures
- 9am, 12.30pm & 3.30pm in summer (Nov - Mar)
- 10am & 2pm in winter (Apr - Oct)
- Meet us at our base at 391 State Highway 33, Mourea (15 mins from Rotorua)

Other Information
- No rafting experience required
- Please bring swimsuit and a towel
- Suitable for all active people 13 years and over
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
- Recommended minimum weight limit 40kg, Maximum 120kg
- Rotorua hotel transfers will be approximately half an hour before the trip time
