Sea Kayaking in the Abel Tasman National Park is New Zealand's most popular sea kayaking destination. Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for fifteen years.
Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. Choose from half day or full day options:
Royale with Cheese: Full Day. See more of the Abel Tasman National Park from a kayak than any other day trip! Explore coastline between Bark Bay and Kaiteriteri. A scenic water taxi ride in the morning takes you into the heart of the park to start your kayaking experience. A one-way tour moving in the same direction as the predominant wind – the sea breeze, no experience necessary, see the entire southern coastline and enjoy easier paddling with the wind, plenty of open-water sailing when the sea-breeze allows, NZ fur seal encounters at Pinnacle Island seal colony, paddle past an endless variety of lagoons, islands and literally dozens of beaches.
Split Apple Classic: Half Day. Paddle the safest, most sheltered area along the Abel Tasman coastline. See lots of good stuff in a small area including; islands, caves, beaches and, of course, Split Apple Rock. Loved by families and the cruiser in all of us for the last fifteen years. No experience needed, easy going paddling. Suits any age and fitness. See the awesome Split Apple Rock, One or two stops on any of the eight beaches, caves and lagoons at high tide, small islands to explore, lots to see in a small area.

Departures
- Royale with Cheese departs at 8.30am (returns by 4.30pm) from Kaiteriteri Beach in summer and from Marahau Beach in Winter
- Split Apple departs at midday (returns by 4pm) from Kaiteriteri Beach (operates December to March only)
Other Information
- Minimum age is 8 years for Split Apple and 14 years for Royale with Cheese
- Please bring: a hat, sunscreen, insect repellant, warm top (wool or fleece), T-shirt, shorts, swimsuit, wind jacket, camera, change of clothes and water, additional snack food (for those of you that get hungry through the day)
