Milford Track Day Walk - Real Journeys Te Anau
About
Description
Famously described by Rudyard Kipling as the ‘finest walk in the world’, the Milford Track is internationally acclaimed for its spectacular scenery.
Walking the full length of the Milford Track through to Milford Sound takes four days. However, if you are short on time, you can still experience a taste of this stunning hiking route.
Experience some of the Milford Track’s highlights on a one-day guided adventure.
Join your guide in Te Anau and take a short coach trip to Te Anau Downs. From there, you’ll enjoy a one-hour scenic lake cruise to the start of the Milford Track.
The walk begins with a gentle stroll via the Glade Burn to historic Glade House for lunch and a hot drink. Walk alongside the emerald waters of the Clinton River, then cross a swing bridge and stroll through ancient beech forest to the Clinton Hikers Hut.
Along the way, your nature guide will explain the track’s history and point out native birds and plants. There is plenty of time for you to enjoy the scenery and take photos.
The walking is easy and relaxed and there are no big climbs.
