Most visitors to Marlborough only get to experience just a small portion of what the area has to offer by way of stunning scenery.
Home of world renown vineyards and the picturesque Marlborough Sounds, the area is also blessed with snow capped mountain ranges, coastal pathways, New Zealand's largest farm station (Molesworth), glacial lakes, nature reserves and townships.
A scenic flight is the perfect way to take in the diversity and beauty of Marlborough - a great flying experience with the most breathtaking scenery.
Marlborough Aero Club was established by a group of aviation enthusiasts in the 1920’s who simply turned their dreams of flying into reality. We have a long and proud history of fulfilling flying ambitions by introducing people from all walks of life to professional and recreational flying.
We are based in Blenheim at the heart of Marlborough – as the ‘sunshine capital’ of New Zealand we benefit from some of best flying conditions available. Marlborough is blessed with breathtaking countryside, stunning mountain ranges, glacial lakes and coastal areas, and surrounded by world famous vineyards.
As a not-for-profit Club, all proceeds are invested back into the Club for the enjoyment of members and guests.
Marlborough Aero Club offers Scenic Flights from 8am-5pm, seven days a week (subject to weather and availability), with prices starting at $55 per person.
20 minute flight
Discover the Vernon Works, fly over some of Marlborough’s internationally renowned vineyards, see the coast line at Rarangi and return back to Omaka. Or see the Spy Valley Domes from the sky and return to Omaka via Kaituna Bridge.
30 minute flight
Take in the wonderful views of some of our world famous vineyards, the stunning coast line featuring the White Bluffs, and iconic lighthouse at Cape Campbell.
40 minute flight
Discover the stunning Marlborough Sounds – Portunderwood, Picton and return to Omaka.
Molesworth Station - 35 mins each way
Save yourself the 2 hour drive to Molesworth Station! Enjoy an hour or so at one of New Zealand’s largest cattle station.
d’Urville Island - 45 mins each way
The trip to d’Urville Island is as stunning as the island itself! Only accessible by air and sea, it’s the perfect retreat. Spend an hour on the island to take in the scenery. There may be a chance to see dolphins on the way back to Omaka.

- Make your way to the Omaka Aerodrome which is just a short drive (7km) from the town centre of Blenheim
