There's no other cluster of courses like this in the world. Queenstown is simply sublime for golf. The Cut, NZ's number 1 golf magazine puts it perfectly:"Millbrook, Kelvin Heights, the Original Arrowtown Course make up the best Alpine threesome in the country. Now Jacks Point makes it a foursome.... Queenstown is a skiing destination recognized throughout the world, it will not be long before it achieves world status as a destination for golf too." Queenstown has long been renowned as a ski resort, but now it's exploded as the ultimate retreat for golfers.
Queenstown Golf Course
Queenstown golf club at Kelvin Heights was recently voted New Zealand's most scenic golf course and is internationally regarded as one of the World's most picturesque. It is set in the amphitheatre of the famous Remarkable Mountain Range and surrounded by the pristine waters of Lake Wakatipu.
Queenstown Golf Club provides a unique challenge with undulating fairways framed by well-established pine trees. The signature 5th hole playing across Lake Wakatipu is one of New Zealands finest most photographed.
Arrowtown Golf Course
The picturesque Arrowtown Golf Club is set in Central Otago, one of New Zealand's most historic and scenic regions. Surrounded by mountains, the 18 hole course has superb views from every fairway.
Each hole at Arrowtown golf club has its own attraction and the diverse and challenging course attracts players from all over the world. Historic stone cottage ruins nestle amongst towering trees, a legacy of Arrowtown's pioneers.
Arrowtown's link with its goldmining past is highlighted in the names of holes: Sons of Fortune and Golden Arrow, which border the once rich, goldbearing Arrow River. Established in 1937 as a nine hole course, the second nine opened in 1970. The Arrowtown golf course is 5327 metres on the mens card (par 70 for men, par 71 for women).
Millbrook Resort
With extraordinary photo opportunities at every turn, this championship course offers five different tee positions catering for golfers of every level of playing expertise.
Brilliantly conceived, the original 18-hole course designed by Sir Bob Charles has been upgraded with additions, including a stunning new nine holes by Greg Turner that will open this summer.
Challenging for both higher and lower handicap golfers, the Millbrook Resort course is one of the most impressive international golf arenas in the world. Featuring impeccably groomed fairways and greens, demanding hazards and meandering water courses, surrounded by the alpine backdrop of the Remarkables Mountain Range, golf at Millbrook Resort is an exhilarating experience.
Jacks Point Golf Club
With a backdrop of 2300 vertical metres of the razorback Remarkables mountain range and an armchair view of an outstanding lake and mountain panorama, Jack's Point Golf Course is not only one of the most spectacular in the world, but as an 18 hole par 72 championship course it offers golfers of any caliber a challenging and unforgettable experience.
The course works with nature, not against it. Designed with minimal excavation, the 6388 metre (7088 yard) course is built on the most spectacular of Jack's Point terrain, weaving through tussock grasslands, dramatic rock outcrops, steep bluffs and swathes of native bush to the edge of Lake Wakatipu.
