Description
South Island Trout Stalkers operate Guided Fly fishing tours based out of Glenorchy and Queenstown, New Zealand. We sight, stalk and fish large Brown and Rainbow Trout in a setting that can only be described as ”Gods own”.
At South Island Trout Stalkers we customize your fishing package tell us your time schedule, experience etc. and we put a package together to suit you.
Whether it be a one or two day fishing experience walking our rivers or helicopter into a remote back country river for a crack at a fish of a lifetime, we are here to listen to you and put a package together that suits your needs.
Gordon was born and raised in Glenorchy and has a long-standing family history in the area dating back 6 generations.
"My granddad is a bit of a legend around here , he was a hunting and fishing guide, he had a life people dream of, he said I was teethed on a fly rod so I guess I got a good start"
Growing up in a place like Glenorchy gave Gordon the opportunity to hone skills in the backcountry. Whether it be hunting a weary stag, climbing some of New Zealand’s largest peaks or landing a monster trout Gordon has an extensive skill set suited for the New Zealand outdoors. Gordon has been fishing all his life and accumulated a vast amount of knowledge of the local rivers and fishing conditions. Gordon’s extensive knowledge of the Backcountry Rivers in our area, exceptional fitness level and cunning guiding tactics make him an excellent choice as guide for your New Zealand fishing experience.

Trip Includes
- All full day prices include gourmet lunch
- Transport ,all fishing equipment, day fishing license (Season license extra)
- Day trips come with a WARNING: A very early start so we can maximize your time and give you the best fishing possible
- One on one tuition with the fishing guide
Duration
- Half day or full day options
Departures
- Early morning starts are best but we can be flexible to suit your needs
- Full day is usually 7am to 7pm
- Half day is either 7am to 12.30pm or 12.30pm to 7pm
- Pick up from your Queenstown or Glenorchy accommodation
- Operates all year round
Other Information
- Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced anglers welcome
- One one one tuition with the guide although if you wish to fish with a friend then the guides can take a maximum of 2 anglers. There are several fly fishing guides available so you can book for more than 2 anglers
