Description
Located at Agroventures, 10km from Rotorua city, Rotorua Swoop is the adrenaline equivalent to a giant swing…with a bit of a twist.
The Swoop consists of specially designed hang gliding harnesses where you are cocooned inside. Up to three people can participate in a Swoop at one time, the more people the better the ride. As you and up to two friends are cocooned in specially designed harnesses, you will be raised slowly towards the sky, as the anticipation rises, your heart beats faster and faster, causing the adrenaline to rush through your body. On reaching 40 metres, on our command, you pull the ripcord making you free fall head first towards the ground at 130kmph, pulling 3 G’s on the way. Some scream, some are scared to silence, some laugh uncontrollably, most do a combination of all three, what will you do?

Duration
- Allow 1 hour including travel time from Rotorua
Departures
- All day between 9am and 5pm
- You will need to get your own way to the Agroventures base located 10kms from Rotorua township on State Highway 5 next to the Agrodome. You can drive yourself or catch the local bus that departs every 10 minutes from town
Other Information
- The Swoop can be combined with other activities at Agroventures to save money. See Agroventure Activity Combos listing on our site
- One, two or three people can swoop at any one time
- Clients must be at least 1 metre tall. There are no age restrictions
- Those that are pregnant, have a heart condition, neck or back problems or a neurological disorder should not participate in the Swoop or they should seek medical advice and certification first
- All adventure activities at Agroventures are Qualmark Endorsed and are members of the Rotorua Sustainable Tourism Charter
